The Lovello Cup Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament Concludes at Army Golf Club
The Lovello Cup Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament 2024 concluded on November 23, 2024, after four days of competitive play at the Army Golf Club. The grand finale included a cultural program and dinner event held at the club’s Golf Garden, starting at 8:30 PM.
The event was graced by the chief guest, Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant of the National Defense College, Mirpur cantonment. He was joined by notable figures including the President of the Army Golf Club Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed, Datin’ Shamima Nargis Haque, Chairman of Lovello Ice Cream PLC, and Dato’ Engr. Md. Ekramul Haque, Managing Director of Lovello Ice Cream PLC. Army Golf Club’s CEO, Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali (Retd.), Brigadier General Shah-Noor-Jilani (Retd.), Chairman of the Tournament Committee, and the Golf Captain Colonel Mohammad Shariful Islam.
The tournament featured competitions across five categories: Senior, Junior, Regular, Ladies, and Veteran, with a participation of 784 golfers. Maj Md. Nazmul Huq Madal was honored as the Overall Champion of the tournament. The category winners were Brig Gen AKM Masud (Retd.) in the veteran category, Lt Gen Md Shafiqur Rahman (Retd.) in the Senior category, Mrs. Shaila Ahsan in the Ladies division, and Master Mehnan Taseen Rahman in the Junior category.
