Joaquin Niemann set to defend his title at the ISPS HANDA Australian
Joaquin Niemann set to defend his title at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open. Last season, he won in a playoff against Rikuya Hoshino in Sydney. He’s excited to play at Kingston Heath and Victoria Golf Clubs and is eager to start the 2025 Race to Dubai season strongly.
After finishing seventh in Dubai two weeks ago and enjoying a honeymoon break, Niemann feels energetic and ready for the new season.
The Australian Open features three competitions across two golf courses, including men’s and women’s events and the Australian All Abilities Championship. Elvis Smylie, who won last week in Brisbane, is also looking forward to the challenge of a new tournament setup.
This week, the men’s and women’s events will happen at Kingston Heath and Victoria on Thursday and Friday, and just at Kingston Heath over the weekend. The Australian All Abilities Championship will also occur at Kingston Heath from Thursday to Saturday.
