Scottie Scheffler wins His Ninth Title of the Year at Hero World Challenge
Scottie Scheffler successfully defended his title at the Hero World Challenge this Sunday, marking his ninth win of the year. The 28-year-old American golfer played a flawless round, scoring a 9-under par 63, and finishing the tournament at 25-under 263 over 72 holes at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas.
His performance led to a comfortable six-stroke win over South Korea’s Tom Kim, with two-time major champion Justin Thomas finishing third.
Scheffler expressed satisfaction with his play, highlighting a strong start with birdies on three of the first four holes. He noted the importance of his new putting grip and his plans to rest before the next season starts in January.
Justin Thomas, who started the day ahead of Scheffler by one stroke, struggled with a few early bogeys, allowing Scheffler to take the lead. Meanwhile, Tom Kim had a strong showing on the course’s par-5s but couldn’t keep pace with Scheffler, especially after a crucial bogey on the 11th hole.
