Scottie Scheffler has won the PGA Tour Player of the Year award for the third straight year, a record that matches one last achieved by Tiger Woods between 2005 and 2007.
As the world’s number one golfer for 2024, Scheffler won seven PGA Tour events. His victories included winning the Masters again, defending his title at the Players Championship, claiming an Olympic gold medal in Paris, and winning the FedExCup championship.
Throughout the year, Scheffler played consistently well, finishing in the top-10 in 16 of the 19 tournaments he entered and he never missed a cut. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan called Scheffler’s season “truly historic” and noted that winning the award shows how much respect he has from other players.
Scheffler got 91% of the votes for the award, more than other top golfers like Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy.
At 28 years old, Scheffler also celebrated the birth of his first child, a son named Bennett, with his wife Meredith.
