The Retired Armed Officers Welfare Association (RAOWA) commenced the Inauguration Ceremony of their 42nd Founding Anniversary Golf Tournament today at the Army Golf Club. The prestigious event was inaugurated by the President of the Army Golf Club, Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc, who served as the chief guest.
Lieutenant General Anwar Hussain, SBP, BGBM, ndc, psc (Retd), the Chairman of RAOWA, was also present to witness the opening day’s events. The tournament has attracted a total of 378 golfers, who will compete vigorously over the next two days across four distinct categories. Around 230 golfers participated today.
The tournament, held in honor of RAOWA’s founding anniversary, aims to bring together retired armed forces officers in a spirit of camaraderie and competition. The event not only celebrates the association’s storied history but also promotes a healthy and active lifestyle among its members.
The two-day golfing competition will culminate in a grand closing ceremony scheduled for June 6, 2024, at the RAOWA Complex. The closing event will include an award ceremony where the winners from each category will be honored for their achievements.
The tournament is expected to be a significant highlight in RAOWA’s calendar, fostering fellowship and showcasing the sporting talents of its members.
