The PGA Tour has announced the members of its 2025 Player Advisory Council (PAC), a group of 16 players tasked with advising the Policy Board and Commissioner Jay Monahan on critical issues affecting the Tour. The council comprises a mix of returning members and first-time participants, reflecting representation from different sections of the previous year’s FedEx Cup standings.

This year’s PAC includes top players like Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Sam Burns, and Brian Harman. Returning members also include Seamus Power, Maverick McNealy, and Keith Mitchell. Among the newcomers are Gary Woodland, Brandt Snedeker, Kevin Kisner, Charley Hoffman, Max McGreavy, Eric Cole, and Trevor Cone. Notable departures include Nick Hardy, Mackenzie Hughes, Lanto Griffin, Adam Schenk, Nick Taylor, Kevin Streelman, Josh Teater, and Camilo Villegas, the latter now serving as a player director on the Policy Board. The PAC will elect its chairman at a later date.

The PAC has been instrumental in shaping significant changes in the past, including optimizing field sizes, revising FedEx Cup point allocations, and adjusting eligibility systems. These changes aim to improve the competitive landscape and overall player experience.

On the same day, Justin Thomas, a returning PAC member, addressed his peers with a call for greater media collaboration. In a letter, he urged players to embrace mid-round interviews, wear microphones, and provide behind-the-scenes access to enhance fan engagement. Reflecting on the success of similar efforts in other sports, Thomas shared his changing perspective, stating that increased transparency and access can create a stronger connection with audiences. Once opposed to such practices, Thomas has recently participated in live interviews during events like the Masters and the Hero World Challenge.

The announcement coincided with the much-anticipated debut of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL arena golf league on ESPN. This innovative league introduces a fast-paced, stadium-style format, complete with dramatic elements like the ceremonial hammer throw. The league’s unique approach has sparked widespread interest, with fans eager to see how it evolves over time.
