Nelly Korda Wins LPGA Player of the Year
Nelly Korda has had an incredible season and the LPGA confirmed on Monday that she has already won the Rolex Player of the Year award, even though the season isn’t finished. This makes her the 27th player to receive this award since it started in 1966. Korda’s impressive year included winning six of her first eight tournaments in 2024.
Winning this award also earns Korda a point toward the LPGA Hall of Fame. She now has 18 points and needs 27 to qualify.
Korda expressed her gratitude, acknowledging that her success was a team effort. “Winning the Rolex Player of the Year means so much to me,” she said. “This season has had its highs and challenges, and I’m just really grateful for the people around me who have helped me get here.”
Korda’s win follows last year’s winner, Lilia Vu, marking the first time since the early 1990s that two Americans have won this award in consecutive years.
Korda also won the Chevron Championship this year and came close at the AIG Women’s British Open. She will officially receive her awards on November 20 during a special ceremony at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida.

Korda had to take a break from playing due to a minor neck injury but started practicing again last week after getting the all-clear from her doctor. She plans to play in Florida in mid-November and will finish her season with a couple of unofficial events in December.
