LPGA Announces 2025 Season With Record Breaking Prize Pools

The LPGA Tour has announced its 2025 schedule, marking its 75th anniversary with a record-breaking season. The upcoming year will feature 33 official events and an impressive $131 million in total prize money, the highest in the tour’s history.

The season starts two weeks later than in 2024, giving players extra time to rest and recharge. It kicks off with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, held January 30 to February 2 at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida. Throughout the year, the tour will visit 14 U.S. states and 11 international locations.

Two new tournaments are set to debut: the Black Desert Championship in Utah from May 1-4 and the Riviera Maya Open in Cancun, Mexico, from May 22-25. The latter marks the LPGA’s return to Mexico for the first time since 2017.

Non-major tournaments will distribute over $83 million in prize money, with nine events increasing their purses compared to 2024. Sixteen tournaments offer at least $3 million in prize money, and 24 events will provide additional benefits like travel stipends, free accommodations, or minimum payouts for players who miss the cut.

The CME Group Tour Championship, scheduled for November 20-23 in Naples, Florida, will remain the largest non-major purse, offering $11 million, including $4 million for the winner. This follows the extension of CME Group’s title sponsorship through 2027.

The five major championships will collectively offer $47.8 million in prize money. Leading the pack is the U.S. Women’s Open with a $12 million purse, hosted at Erin Hills, Wisconsin, from May 29 to June 1. Other highlights include:

  • KPMG Women’s PGA Championship: June 19-22 at Fields Ranch East, Frisco, Texas ($10.4M).
  • Amundi Evian Championship: July 10-13 at Evian Resort, France ($8M).
  • AIG Women’s Open: July 31-August 3 at Royal Porthcawl, Wales ($9.5M).

The Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown will return to the schedule, with eight countries competing in a team event in South Korea in October. Additionally, the Founders Cup moves from New Jersey to Bradenton, Florida, in February, replacing the Drive On Championship. However, the Dana Open in Ohio will not be featured on the 2025 schedule.

LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan emphasized the tour’s growth, stating, “The 2024 season was another historic year for the LPGA, and this 2025 schedule builds on that momentum. We’re excited about the new events, higher prize funds, and enhanced player benefits.”
