Siddikur finishes fourth in Bangladesh Open, Jamal finished joint 8th, Badal tied for 14th
Premier Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman sealed joint fourth spot in the Bangabandhu Cup Golf Bangladesh Open that concluded at Kurmitola Golf Club recently. The 39-year old carded one-under-par 70 in the final round to share the position, along with three others from Thailand and India. His total score is minus seven 277 in four rounds. The star golfer, who aimed to win the tournament for the first time since its induction in the Asian Tour in 2015, however, was not content at the end of the day. “My hitting was totally off, so I’m not happy with my hitting,” said the two-time Asian Tour winner, who won this event in 2010 when it was part of the Professional Golf Tour of India. “But I made a few up and downs, which was very good. But overall, I still played one under so it’s okay, but my hitting especially was totally off (Sunday) and (Saturday). “Overall, it was okay, the course condition was really awesome. Normally we are not used to playing the course in this condition. So overall it was a wonderful week for me.” Jamal Hossain couldn’t carry the same consistency in the final round as he finished joint eighth with one-over-par 72, while Badal Hossain finished joint 14th with a 69.
