Junior Bangladeshi Golfers Set to Shine at Oak Forest Cup
Four Bangladeshi junior golfers are going to compete in the 2024 Oak Forest Cup Hainan Youth Golf Tournament, which will be held from September 26 to 29 in Wanning, Hainan, China
The golfers are: Rayeem Al Mabruk, Sheikh Sameer Hossain, Irfan Hasan Wadi, and Syed Mahdi Mahbeer.
This tournament is organized by the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports. This prestigious tournament will feature over 120 participants from various countries, giving these Bangladeshi athletes the chance to compete for glory and improve their competitive skills on the international stage.
The competition format is individual stroke play, with the players grouped by age: Group A (16-18 years), Group B (13-15 years), Group C (10-12 years), and Group D (6-9 years). The Bangladeshi juniors, competing alongside players from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, are among the select international invitees. They will not only compete for individual honors but also represent their nation with pride in the team events.

With the growing emphasis on youth sports development in Bangladesh, their presence in this tournament is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the country’s golf associations and training programs.This tournament offers high stakes for the participants. The overall champion in Group AB (ages 16-18) will receive a wildcard entry to the 2024 Hainan Open European Challenge Tour, providing an invaluable opportunity for young golfers to showcase their talent on a professional level. Additionally, the event is certified by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), ensuring that top performers will earn valuable ranking points, further boosting their chances of advancing in their careers.
