Hamish Brown secured his second Challenge Tour title by defeating Lloyd Jefferson Go of the Philippines in a playoff to win the Hainan Open. Brown sealed the victory with a birdie on the first playoff hole after forcing the extra session with a birdie on the 18th hole in regulation. Go had led at 20-under with four holes to play but faltered with a bogey on the 15th, finishing with pars on the last three holes.

“It feels incredible,” Brown said. “To win in such a different environment, far from Denmark, in humid conditions, and still play good golf, is amazing.”

Brown, 25, started the final round three shots behind in fourth place but quickly gained ground with birdies on the first, sixth, and seventh holes. He added two more birdies on the 12th and 14th before his crucial birdie on the 18th sent the match into the playoff.

Reflecting on his win at the Sanya Luhuitou Golf Club, Brown said, “I wasn’t feeling much pressure. I knew I’d had a good week, and even finishing second would’ve been great. The last hour flew by, and I didn’t realize where I stood until the 18th. I’m happy to have avoided any bogeys today, something I hadn’t managed all week.”

Brown remains third in the Road to Mallorca Rankings and is eager for a strong finish to the season. “I’d love to get another win, but I know I need to keep playing well. I’m excited for next week,” he added.
