Bangladeshi amateur golfer Faisal Khan has finished second at the Grand Finals of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2019.
The finals were held at Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort and Spa in Antalya, Turkey from November 2-5.
Faisal, who held the overnight lead at the start of the final day’s play, was one shot behind Japan’s qualified golfer at the closing.
“It was disappointing to lose the overnight lead, but I am happy to have stayed in contention throughout the tournament, and to finish 2nd in my first international competition,” Faisal said.
At the tournament, Faisal got the opportunity to practice and play alongside top global golfers such as Justin Rose, Francesco Mollinari, Shane Lawry, Justin Harding, Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed and Lee Westwood, among others.
The top three players were awarded spots to play with the Pro-Am of the $7 Million purse Turkish Airlines Open and played at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club
Qualifiers from 100 events in 73 countries took to the course to play for the right to be crowned the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2019 Champion at the Nick Faldo-designed links.
