Extend Lead At Grant Thornton Invitational

Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp increased their lead to two strokes at the Grant Thornton Invitational after carding a 66 in the second round, bringing their total to 20-under par. The tournament, held at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, features mixed teams from the PGA and LPGA tours and uses various formats across three rounds. Despite less spectacular play compared to their 14-under-par 58 on day one, Tavatanakit and Knapp navigated inclement weather effectively, maintaining a positive outlook which Knapp credited to Tavatanakit’s encouragement.

Close behind, Jeeno Thitikul and Tom Kim moved into second place with an eight-under-par 64, reaching 18-under for the tournament. Jennifer Kupcho and Akshay Bhatia are just a shot further back. Meanwhile, defending champions Lydia Ko and Jason Day, who shot a 67, are five shots off the lead at 15-under par. Ko praised the chemistry within her team, including the caddies, and expressed enthusiasm for the final round, hoping to build on their strong finish on the back nine
