The Early Bird — Keen Golfers Golf Tournament was held at the Bhatiary Golf & Country Club (BGCC) in Chittagong on December 22 in presence of the club president Maj Gen Md Jahangir Kabir Talukder, club vice president (golf wing) M Salman Ispahani, vice president (country wing) M A Salam, Golf Captain Mr. Liakat Ali Chowdhury and high civil and military officials and other club members.
Rakibur Rahman Tutul emerged winner in the tournament. Nazrul Islam grabbed the runner up, Kaneez Fatima won the ladies event, Brig Gen Mannan won the senior winner title and Master Yasrib won the junior winner title.
Other prizes were distributed among Maj Md Feroz Ahmed as second runner up, Arafatul Islam Fahim as the best grosss, Taslim Uddin as second best gross, Hafija Emad as the ladies runner up, Saifuddin Mamun as the best front nine, Fahmid Uddin as the best back nine, Maj Faisal Pasha as the nine whole winner, Lt Col Zainur Rashid (Retd) as nine whole runner up, Master Azmaeen as junior runner up, Hossain Mohammad Shoaib for the longest drive, Mirza Aboo Zubair as nearest to the pin, Maj Md Emdadul Islam (retd) for best par three and H Y Lee for best par five. The club president distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest of the concluding ceremony.
