Two-time European Challenge Tour winner Brun posted five birdies and one bogey to sign for a 16 under par total and a four under score for the day. England’s Wilson carded four birdies in a blemish free round as the pair sit one shot ahead of Sweden’s Jens Dantorp who signed for a bogey-free six under 65.
Brun, who is in search of his third Challenge Tour title and second trophy of the season after his win at the Open de Bretagne, is pleased that his consistent run of form is continuing and hopes to carry this into tomorrow’s final round.
“I am very pleased with it,” Brun said. “I struggled a bit today. I didn’t feel good, so I am very happy with that score, and it was very windy as well so it got quite difficult out there. A 67 is very good.
“I want to do as good as I can and see where it gets me and hopefully, we are going to have a good battle and it’s going to be fun.
“It got windy very quickly when we were on the second or third hole; The wind kept picking up and the pins are quite tough as well, but it makes it a good challenge.”
Wilson carried his consistency into the third round and, after missing the last three cuts, he believes the experience he has had in recent events will stand him in good stead tomorrow.
“I felt pretty good,” Wilson said. “I feel like I’ve been in contention a few times this year and I think that put me in a good position for today. I have messed up a few times this year – Holland wasn’t great, but having that experience should stand me in a good position for tomorrow.
“The conditions were quite tricky; I was thinking about being bogey free down the stretch, so I am happy to not drop one today.
“I probably played better today with the weather conditions. I hit some really good approach shots and I just didn’t manage to hole those putts but equally holed a few mid-range ones so it’s always nice to get them in.”
Sweden’s Björn Hellgren finished the day in a tie for fourth alongside John Murphy of Ireland, who carded six birdies and an eagle to move to a 12 under par total. Four players share sixth, including Swedish compatriots Jesper Svensson and Per Längfors.
Five players, including Road to Mallorca Number Four Alfredo Garcia-Heredia, are a shot further back in a tie for tenth on ten under par.
