Bellew completes Staysure PGA Seniors Championship Celebrity Series field
The 28-year-old Liverpudlian, who recently started playing golf, will join a host of well-known faces at Formby Golf Club as stars of sport and screen join Legends Tour professionals and amateur guests in the pre-tournament Celebrity Pro-Am.

Bellew retired from professional boxing in 2018 with a record of 30 wins, three defeats and one draw from his 34 bouts, with highlights including his victory against Ilunga Makabu in 2016 when he won the WBC Cruiserweight title at Goodison Park, the home of his beloved Everton Football Club, and his two spectacular victories against two-weight World Champion David Haye at The O2 Arena, London.

The ‘Bomber’ has a newfound love for boxing and excited to join the star-studded line-up at Formby Golf Club later this month.

I can’t wait play in the Legends Tour’s Celebrity Series Pro-Am at Formby,” he said. I’m quite new to golf but I’ve really got the bug and I’m grateful to have been invited to play alongside some massive names.

It’s amazing to be able to play at a course so close to where I’m from and I know everyone is going to come out and support us all and I can’t wait to see everyone there.”

Bellew will be joined in the Celebrity Pro-Am by former England cricket captain Sir Andrew Strauss and England’s most prolific bowler of all-time, James Anderson, as well as fellow cricketing legends Lord Ian Botham, Darren Gough and Allan Lamb.

Legends Tour Celebrity Ambassadors Dan Walker, Georgie Bingham, Harry Redknapp and Sir AP McCoy will make their debuts in the Series as they begin their quest to win the Celebrity Series Order of Merit.

TV and Radio presenter Vernon Kay, former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, Scottish curler Eve Muirhead MBE, Genesis star Mike Rutherford and snooker legend John Parrott will also join the Celebrity Series Pro-Am field at Formby Golf Club.

Former England internationals Robbie Fowler Nicky Butt, Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock and ex-Liverpool defender Alan Hansen will all take to the Formby links alongside Legends of golf such as Thomas Bjørn, Paul Lawrie, Paul McGinley and Ian Woosnam.
