BGF is going to host 6th Asian Tour tournament after a two-years gap as the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Open is scheduled to be held at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka from November 22 to 27.
This prestigious Asian Tour event offers $ 400,000 prize money when Bangladesh going to hosts an Asian Tour tournament for the sixth time since 2015.
The mega professional event of the season was originally scheduled to be held from December 21 to 24 before it was rescheduled in response to the request from Asian Tour.
The Asian Tour authority made the request to Bangladesh Golf Federation and in response to that request, the BGF rescheduled it.
A total of 126 golfers, including 40 to 45 locals, are expected to take part in the event, sponsored by the National Bank.
BGF hosted the Asian Tour tournament last time in 2019 when Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana won the title before the next edition was annulled for Covid-19 in 2020.
Only Siddikur Rahman could make a mark among local golfers by finishing runner-up in the third edition of the Bangladesh Open in 2017; though BGF hosted the Asian Tour event five times from 2015 to 2019.
