Akbar Hossain clinched the title of 13th Summit Open Golf Tournament 2023, which was recently held at the Kurmitola Golf Club.
Akbar, a PGTI regular, clinched the title with a score of three-under-par, finishing 11 strokes ahead of Nuruzzaman and Dulal Hossain.
The three-day tournament was the first professional event organised by the Bangladesh Golf Federation in a long time. Lack of practice and absence of professional tournaments played a negative role in the performance of the professional golfers, opined the organisers.
Major General Md. Zahirul Islam, SGP, ndc, psc the vice president of KGC and Senior VP of Bangladesh Golf Federation, graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest where Mr Farid Khan, vice chairman of Summit Group, was present as special guest.
