The 10th Shah Cement-AKS Cup Golf Tournament 2025 officially teed off today, at the Kurmitola Golf Club. The event was inaugurated by Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, OSP, NPP, ndc, ncc, psc, the Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy. The three-day tournament has attracted around 650 golfers from various clubs across the country, including members of the diplomatic community in Bangladesh.
The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, OSP, BSP, ndc, hdmc, psc, Commandant of the National Defence College and Vice President of the Kurmitola Golf Club; Valiant Freedom Fighter Brigadier General Shahidullah Chowdhury, ndc, Executive Director of Abul Khair Group; Brigadier General Md Towhid Hossain, SGP, ndc, psc, Club Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club; Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retd), Tournament Director; and Colonel Md Shahidul Haque (Retd), Chief Executive Officer of the Kurmitola Golf Club.
Also present were Colonel S M Sazzad Hossain, BSP, SPP, PPM, afwc, psc, Club Secretary of Kurmitola Golf Club; Prof. Shahin Mahbuba Haque, Lady Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club; and other high-ranking officials from the Bangladesh Navy, the Abul Khair Group, and the Kurmitola Golf Club.
The tournament promises an exciting competition over the next three days, bringing together top golfers and sports enthusiasts from across the nation.
