10th Dhaka Bank Victory Day Cup Golf Tournament 2024
The prestigious “10th Dhaka Bank Victory Day Cup Golf Tournament 2024” was held from Tuesday, December 10, to Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Army Golf Club in Dhaka. The grand finale, hosted on Friday evening, featured an award ceremony, cultural performances, and a gala dinner at the Golf Garden of the Army Golf Club.
The event was graced by General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army, as the chief guest. Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC, also attended the gala night and reiterated the bank’s commitment to promoting sports and community development.
Among other notable attendees were Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc, SDS (Army-2) at the National Defense College and President of the Army Golf Club; Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali, PBGM, ndc (Retd.), CEO of Army Golf Club; Brigadier General Akhter Shahid, SUP (BAR), ndc, psc, G+, MPhil, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, Army Golf Club; Colonel Muhammad Shariful Islam, psc, Golf Captain of Army Golf Club; Lieutenant Colonel Saiful Islam, afwc, psc, G, Member Secretary; and Lieutenant Colonel Md Gholam Monzoor Siddique (Retd.), Director of Operations and Sports at Army Golf Club. Members of the executive committee and other distinguished personalities also graced the occasion.
The tournament, one of the largest in the region, saw participation from 788 amateur golfers competing across five categories: Regular, Veteran, Senior, Ladies, and Junior.
